FIELD NOTES #001
On starting.
After too many weeks away from writing and sharing, I'm back. And this time, it's for real.
I’ve spent years being inspired by other people’s projects.
Their content. Their books. The way they thought. The way they built. The way they created their own path instead of waiting for someone to hand them one.
And for a long time, I watched. I took notes. I almost started. I failed before I began.
I’m an expert at that, actually. Not starting things properly. Getting close and pulling back.
But something shifted.
I’m not sure I can explain it fully, and maybe that’s okay. Not everything needs a clean origin story.
What I know is this: right now, I have the courage to try. To build in the open. To share the thinking as it happens. To connect with people who give a damn about the same things I do.
Brands that are part of people’s lives, not just their feeds. Communities that aren’t a marketing tactic. Experiences that change how you see yourself, not just how you spend a Saturday.
Sports, wellness, adventure, the outdoors, an industry that doesn’t just create lifestyle. It creates culture. It changes people’s lives.
That last part might sound like a cliché. It isn’t. I’ve seen it happen. I’ve felt it happen to me.
Field Notes is where I build in public. Wins, failures, ideas, questions, conversations. Raw thinking on community, brand and what it takes to build something that actually means something.
No playbook. No formula. Just the work, as it happens.
SENSE exists to make brands make sense again.
This is where we figure out how.
Welcome.
Do whatever makes SENSE.
Field Notes is a series by Francisco, founder of SENSE. Raw thinking on community, brand and what it takes to build something that lasts. Published when something is worth saying.

Just keep going. 🐌
I’m so happy to receive this kind of email! KEEP GOING! 🔥
